I joined Weight Watchers today!
by Princess Daisy Boo ini am a bit of a yo yo dieter - i have been dieting ever since i was a teenager, and my role model for this was my mom of course.
in fact one of my very early memories of going shopping with mom and her buying a diet shake mix.
well... i have a little girl who is almost three and i have been thinking about things and i really need to break this cycle of crash diets, losing 5 kgs and picking up 10 once i have lost motivation.

How do you confront someone abusing their daughter?
by Paralipomenon inseeing how child abuse has affected many people here, i am hoping for some advice.
we have friends of our family that have it on good authority that a father is abusing his four year old daughter.
he's always seemed rather creepy to me, which is a bit of the problem.

I have no idea what the right way to handle this kind of horrible thing is as I have never been in a situation where this has been an issue. All I can say is that my thoughts are with the little girl and I hope that this dreadful situation can be stopped speedily and dealt with in the best way possible!

**OUCH!!!**
by Princess Daisy Boo inso i was cooking supper a few hours ago and i broke up a dried birds eye chili with my fingers into my pasta sauce.
now supper is finished and i am relaxing and i get an itchy eye - i rub my eye... &*%$ ... it is 45 minutes later and my eye is still sore!.
what stupid self inflicted injuries have you suffered and what can you recomend for a burning eye?.

Thank you for all your suggestions - My eye did burn for an hour or two after the event, but I kept dousing it with cold water and it is fine now - bloody hell - it was sore (but then I will admit that I am a bit of a baby!
One of my male friends did the chili thing and then went off to the bathroom - well we laughed at him at the time, but I am quite sympathetic now!

A@G - my MIL is cool - I was not a good little witness girl and I met and married a wordly boy so she is just ye olde normal worldly person. She thinks my JW family is crazy and I am closer to her than my own mom!
We can do research all over the US - Tennesee included!

Anyone else having this problem with Witness Friends and Relatives
by Evidently inthey are all over me with all of these "end of this system of things" signs......earthquakes, cyclones, pestilences, cost of food to lead to food shortages, blah, blah, blah....did they make an announcement at the kh that "this is it!!
" they say that we've never had all of these things happening all at once like we've had the past few weeks...... .

My mom backed off for a few weeks after I unofficially outted myself as an apostate a couple of weeks back, but she is now back on in full force.
Here is South Africa, we are in the midst of a huge problem with crime and violence - you should try arguing that these arent the last days with a South African JW - there are news stories every day that are constant fuel for their fire!
Interesting about the newsweek article - I need to bookmark that!

Photographs of old witness friends and Witness events. Do what with them?
by Thechickennest inmy family just took a stroll down witness lane this month as we searched for photographs that our graduating high school daughter needed for her display at her graduation party.
we have an immense file of photos of a previous life with the jw's.
in a way its a history of a former life.

I have photos of old witness friends - they dont bother me.
What I do have a problem with is the sole photo of my baptism - I cannot decide whether this photo should be kept or disposed of. I feel that by keeping it, it means that that baptism meant something to me, which I know now that it didn't - I was a 14 year old girl - to young to be dedicating herself to anything except homework! But, as JustHuman said - these are all memories and they were our life at one stage so it kind of feels wrong to chuck them away!
